New partnership to bring books to disadvantaged families in New York City

We are very excited to be beginning a new partnership with Brooklyn Community Services. One of BCS’s prgrams is the Prospect Plaza Community Center, part of a New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) complex, in the Brownsville area of Brooklyn. We are working to distribute age-appropriate books to clients who come to  Prospect Plaza’s weekly food distribution program. USACF has secured hundreds of books from our colleagues at Book Fairies. Working with on-site staff we will sort the books so that parents and guardians can pick up bags of 2 – 4 books for each child. We also are working with BCS on proposals to bring distance learning resources to unhoused families, people living in shelters, and NYCHA residents.
